Activities of EQUALS, the Employee Network Supporting LGBTQ+ Employees and Allies
Nippon Sanso in Europe held Diversity Month inJune 2026 and used the Groupwide D&I slogan
REVVED (Respect Every Voice, Value Every Difference) as the common theme for all activities.
This year, we revitalized the employee networks as a priority measure and promoted stronger collaboration within the organization as well as further enhancement of activities. In addition, we distributed stickers for EQUALS, the employee network that supports LGBTIQ+ employees and their allies, at each site and presented employees with a commemorative gift inspired by Japanese culture.
In Japanese, hashi refers to both the chopsticks used for eating and to a bridge that links people and places. Building on these two meanings of the same pronunciation, we hope that hashi (=chopsticks) as two sticks that form a pair, and hashi (= bridge) that connects people and places, embodies the message of “connecting people and respecting one another’s differences.” By communicating this message, we advanced the development of a corporate culture in which people recognize diverse values.

Message Wall Event for Sharing Thoughts about Diversity and Video about Dispelling Generational Stereotypes
Nippon Sanso in Europe produced a short video in which employees from different generations reexamined generational myths (generational stereotypes and preconceptions) and shared their own perspectives, as part of its efforts to promote greater understanding of diversity and inclusion. In addition, in Spain and Portugal, an interactive message wall themed around LGBTIQ+ diversity
was set up. At locations including the Madrid head office, the Barcelona plant and office, and the Cádiz healthcare site, employees were free to write their thoughts and messages on sticky notes and post them for others to view freely, giving employees
exposure to a range of perspectives and an opportunity to reflect on inclusion.

International Cultural Exchange Through Food
At the international lunch held at the head office of Nippon Sanso in Europe on June 24 during
Diversity Month, employees from the Central and Eastern Europe region brought a wide variety of dishes from around the world and homemade family recipes, including Greek pastitsio, Turkish börek, Arabic baklava, Indian cuisine, and Mexican cuisine. The buffet reflected the cultural diversity of the team and sparked lively conversations about various traditions, cultures, and experiences. The event also provided a valuable opportunity for colleagues from diverse backgrounds to share their
stories and deepen their connections.
