Demonstration of CO 2 Capture from Exhaust Gas of a Beckenbach Lime Shaft Kiln

Nippon Sanso Corporation, together with Ueda Lime Manufacturing Co., Ltd., conducted Japan’s first demonstration test to capture CO₂ from the exhaust gas of a Beckenbach-type vertical shaft kiln at Ueda Lime’s Hirui Plant. The test confirmed that Nippon Sanso’s proprietary CO₂ capture system could stably recover CO₂ from the exhaust gas at a concentration of 98% or higher. This achievement marks an important step toward reducing CO₂ emissions in the lime manufacturing process and supports the implementation of CCUS. Nippon Sanso will continue to advance the commercialization and deployment of the system, contributing to the decarbonization of industry and the realization of a carbon-neutral society.
