Nippon Sanso in Europe (Norway) to Construct New Air Separation Unit Supporting Growth and / Strengthening Supply Security for Aquaculture and Regional Industry

Nippon Sanso in Europe (Norway) has decided to build a new air separation unit in Hjelmeland, in southwestern Norway, its fourth in the country. The project involves an investment of approximately 400 million Norwegian kroner, with operations scheduled to begin in summer 2027. The facility is intended to strengthen the stable supply of industrial, food-grade, and medical gases for the aquaculture industry and other sectors, and will serve as a foundation supporting the region’s industrial development and growth. Engaging local contractors during construction will create jobs and stimulate the regional economy. Once operational, the plant will help advance regional decarbonization and the development of a sustainable industrial base, while further strengthening the reliability of supply as a form of social infrastructure.
